In “Scaredy Pants” he attempts to come up with the scariest costume ever. “Imitation Krabs” details Plankton’s evil plan to trick SpongeBob into revealing the secret krabby patty recipe. In “Frankendoodle,” SpongeBob uses a magical pencil to draw a self-portrait, which then comes to life, wreaking havoc all over Bikini Bottom. 2.The Nightmare Before Christmas

Although the title makes this movie sound, well, nightmarish, it’s actually more dream-like and has you thinking about breaking out of your routine. The story centers around Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloweentown, who’s bored and depressed about the same old build-up of Halloween every year. So he wanders into the woods and stumbles through a magical door leading to Christmastown, a joyful, happy place. He thus tries to convince the bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloweentown to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween. Unfortunately, they don’t get it quite right. Talented actors, a wonderful music score, and intriguing characters make this a classic Halloween movie. While some of the creatures might be too scary for youngsters, kids 8 and up should be fine with it. DVD includes “The Making of…” Documentary, deleted footage, Tim Burton’s short films “Vincent” and “Frankenweenie,” and more. Ages 8 and up. Rated PG. 76 min. 1993. Released on DVD March 2, 2004.
